The 8 days tour in the heart of one of Africa’s cleanest and green city will immerse you into the Afro montane Nyungwe Forest; the most ideal destination for hikers, primates, and bird lovers with a total of 13 primate species including chimpanzees, 320 bird species with at least 29 endemic to the montane forest of the Albertine Rift, and a network of different walking trials that have been made through the forest for breathtaking views. The Canopy walkway is a suspended metal bridge on the Igishigishigi trail, 60 meters above the forest floor and the first in East Africa. This walkway is very rewarding with panoramic views of the forest, tea plantations, bird species, colorful butterflies, and great scenic views. Kibuye is one of the tranquil towns in Rwanda’s southern Karongi province on the shore of Lake Kivu with stunning views of the fresh blue lake, lush green hills, and bright flowers. Day 1: Arrive in Rwanda - Kigali International Airport
Pick up from the Kigali International Airport by our professional guide and drive to hotel des mille collins , check in, relax, dinner and night. If time allows pay a visit to choose Kigali art galley and Kimironko local market where you will see various locally produced agricultural produce and artisans works.
DAY 2 : TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE ENROUTE VISIT MUSEUMS & CANOPY WALK WAY
Early morning drive to Nyungwe, You will have a stopover at Butare to visit the Ethnographic Museum; the largest museum in Rwanda with one of Africa’s finest artifacts. There are over 100,000 artifacts displayed in their galleries to help you learn more about the history, culture and traditions of Rwanda. These include the different tools used in agricultural, animal keeping, weaving, woodwork, and pottery. They also show their traditional clothing, and building methods. You will leave the museum and go for lunch in Butare. After lunch, you will proceed to Nyungwe and on arrival you will check into Nyungwe Forest Lodge or Nyungwe Top View Hotel. At 3pm, your guide will pick you up and drive for 20 minutes’ drive to Uwinka Visitor Centre. You will join the rest and get ready to enjoy the 2-hour Canopy walkway for spectacular views of the huge forest trees, tea plantations, and some primates and bird species

DAY 3: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING AND TRANSFER TO KIBUYE – LAKE KIVU
Early breakfast at 4:30am then drive to the edge of the forest where chimpanzee trekking starts. There are two groups of habituated Chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest, the larger one is about 60 plus chimpanzee while the smaller group of 30 is tracked in Cyamudongo Forest area of the Park.
Nyungwe Forest, Africa’s largest Afro-Montane Forest is home to about 500 Chimpanzees and close to 100 that are habituated and used to Humans near them
In the afternoon transfer to Kibuye, the Rwanda’s most attractive of lake ports, nestled in a series of interwoven and undulating hills and offering visitors spectacular views of the lake, its islands and the stunning surrounding countryside. It is considered one of Rwanda’s hidden treasures, with its lush green hills and peaceful breeze. Overnight at Cormoran Lodge
DAY 4: BOAT CRUISE TO THE NAPOLEON AND PEACE ISLANDS & TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast at the shores of Lake Kivu, enjoy the boat ride to Napoleon and Peace Islands. The islands introduce you to many wonders of Rwanda; the beautiful scenery and breathtaking landscapes; birds and fruit bats etc. An exclusive nature walk on both islands will be very rewarding for any visitor. DAY 5: GORILLA TREKKING AFTER NOON IBYIWACU CULTURE VILLAGE
After breakfast, we transfer to the park, completing our park formalities, we embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas.
Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long-lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes is a magical experience.
Be back at the base in time for lunch!
Afternoon visit the visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village for enjoying their different performances and also explore more about their unique culture after we head to the red rocks to see the banana beer production. Overnight at Le Bombou Gorilla Lodge
Day 6: Mount Bisoke Hiking afternoon at leisure
you will set off by 7:30 am for the Volcanoes National Park offices after breakfast at your hotel, in time for briefing to start your hike. It takes 4-6 hours to hike the Bisoke volcano. The actual hike starts at 8:00 am with a drive form the Kinigi park offices to the Bisoke head trail.
It’s advisable to get yourself a porter to carry your backpack and a hiking stick. The Bisoke hike takes you hiking unto the top of the volcano to view the magnificent crater lake and surrounding landscape of the greater Virunga ranges including The Volcanoes National Park.
Once done with, descend back to the starting point where you will meet our company guide who will drive you back to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis. Dinner and overnight : Le Bombou Gorilla Lodge
DAY 7: TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK & GAME DRIVE – BOAT CRUISE
Transfer to Akagera National Park, arrival and briefing at the reception later start a game drive in the park in search for the big 5 that include lions, Rhinos, Leopards, Elephants and buffaloes plus the 12 species of antelopes including the biggest antelopes such as the eland cape and roan antelopes, some of the 525-bird species including 4 rare birds of Akagera, reptiles, amphibians, plants, magnificent landscapes, historical sites; a place with the highest concentration of birds per square kilometer than any other national park of Africa and hundreds of hippos, to mention but a few.
Lunch at the lodge and check-in, in the afternoon, drive to Lake Ihema for a thrilling boat cruise to see schools of hippos, giant Nile crocodiles, water birds, buffaloes, etc. Overnight: - AKAGERA GAME LODGE
Day 8: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE & TRANSFER TO KIGALI – AIRPORT
Early breakfast at lodge followed by a full game drive from south and exit in the north in search for the unseen game on the previous game drive. You will have packed lunch box and soft drinks for the day.
Transfer to back to Kigali. END OF SERVICES
